Harris Corporation Introduces Full-Featured, High-Definition Professional Broadcast Receiver/Decoder in Compact 1RU Platform
CINCINNATI, April 3, 2007— Harris Corporation today introduced the NetPlus™ 300 high-definition, professional integrated receiver/decoder (HD-IRD). This next-generation Harris satellite receiver/decoder provides broadcasters and content distributors with the range of professional contribution video, audio and data features required in modern HD distribution systems in an integrated 1RU package.


The Harris® NetPlus™ 300 HD-IRD features a DVB-S2-capable L-band tuner/demodulator with four inputs, as well as bitstream input and output via DVB-ASI as a standard feature. Each NetPlus™ 300 unit offers SNMP-based management, HTTP/HTML control and front-panel control.

 

The NetPlus™ 300 decodes a wide range of worldwide video formats including 1080i and 720p at 50 Hz and 59.94 Hz, in both the main profile (4:2:0) and 422 profile (4:2:2) formats. Additionally, it includes features for DVB-descrambling, ancillary (VANC) data transport and integrated Dolby® E decoding capability, including genlock to local reference specifically engineered to support synchronization of Dolby® E. The audio signals from the integrated Dolby® E decoder are re-embedded into the HD-SDI output.
