Award-Winning Films and TV Shows Rely on da Vinci's Resolve® and 2K Plus in Post-Production
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Feb. 20, 2007 ? Post-production professionals working on numerous feature films and TV shows nominated for this year's Academy Awards® and Golden Globes® relied on da Vinci Systems' Resolve® and 2K® color enhancement products. Several of the nominated projects were finished in the digital intermediate (DI) process with da Vinci's digital mastering tools, including "Dreamgirls," "The Departed," and "Flags of Our Fathers."

Post-production facilities that worked on the Oscar-nominated films using da Vinci systems are Company 3 for "Dreamgirls," Technicolor for "The Departed," "Letters from Iwo Jima," and "Flags of our Fathers," and Modern VideoFilm for "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America to Make Benefit the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan." "The Departed," directed by Martin Scorsese, and "Letters from Iwo Jima," directed by Clint Eastwood, both received Oscar nominations for Best Motion Picture of the Year and for Best Achievement in Directing. Winners will be announced at the 79th Annual Academy Awards® on Sunday, February 25.
Post-production facilities using da Vinci systems for Golden Globe television nominees and winners include Technicolor for "Ugly Betty," which won the award for Best Television Series in the Comedy or Musical category.
Technicolor was also responsible for "Lost." Additional post facilities that used da Vinci technology include Level 3 Post for "24" and "Scrubs," Westwind Media for "Grey's Anatomy," Modern VideoFilm for "Desperate Housewives," PostWorks NY for "30 Rock," and Encore Hollywood for "House" and "The Sopranos."
