New Hybrid MC Products for 2008 NAB Show
(29/01/2008) - New Hybrid MC products on view at the 2008 NAB Show will include camera robotics and multipurpose 3-D graphics solutions in addition to products showcasing Hybrid MC's core capabilities in virtual studio technology.

New Product: SILVER Compact Robotic Camera Head
SILVER supports cameras of up to 12 kilos in weight for multiple applications such as parliamentary and conference coverage, industrial use, virtual studio, and regular broadcast productions. Suitable for use with tripods, cranes, or wall-mounts, SILVER can be positioned for high-level views to increase the perceived volume of a virtual set. In common with Hybrid MC's TITANIUM robotic head, SILVER provides the highest level of precision, combined with zero-latency operation — no video or audio delay. Available in a range of configurations suitable for anything from simple robotic camera applications to high-end virtual set broadcasting, SILVER sets a new industry benchmark with an unprecedented degree of precision at a very competitive price point.

New Product: MERCURY Software Control for Multiple Robotic Cameras
New for the 2008 NAB Show, MERCURY is Hybrid MC's control software for simultaneous control of up to six TITANIUM and/or SILVER robotic cameras. Running on Linux PCs, MERCURY provides a convenient, easy-to-use control solution for multiple cameras in any application.

New Version: KRYPTON HD Version 1.2
KRYPTON is Hybrid MC's powerful real-time 3-D graphics solution for use in virtual studio broadcasting and other 3-D applications, including augmented reality and virtual reality. New for the 2008 NAB Show, KRYPTON Version 1.2 adds new multilayer scene capabilities, allowing the addition of 3-D overlays to create more complex and realistic virtual scenery. Compatible with the TITANIUM and new SILVER robotic heads from Hybrid MC, KRYPTON also integrates easily with third-party motion tracking devices and software. Used with Hybrid MCs robotic heads, KRYPTON is the only zero-latency virtual set solution available.

New Feature: Render to Texture for KRYPTON HD Version 1.2
New for the 2008 NAB Show, KRYPTON provides the ability to render two entire 3-D scenes at once, allowing users to display one as a texture appearing on virtual plasma screens within the main scene.

New Feature: Real-Time Shader Library for KRYPTON HD Version 1.2
KRYPTON 1.2 also features a new complete real-time shader library that includes effects such as:

- Per-pixel lighting
- Toon shading
- Bump mapping
- Depth of field
- Vertex distortion
- Anisotropic shading
- And many more…

New Feature: Manu Track Plugin for KRYPTON HD Version 1.2
Also new for the 2008 NAB Show, KRYPTON 1.2 features ManuTrack, a plugin from TrackMen, that provides the ability for presenters to interact with virtual graphics. ManuTrack interprets the camera image to track the position of the presenter's hand in real time, transmitting it to the Virtual Graphics system, and allowing the hand to act as a virtual mouse. Virtual objects can be moved, dragged, and dropped, and virtual events can be triggered, actions controlled, giving the presenter a sophisticated interaction with the virtual environment, and bringing an even greater sense of reality to the virtual environment.

New Feature: TITANIUM Robotic Camera Head — Now With Manual Mode
TITANIUM is Hybrid MC's flagship robotic camera head, designed to support HD and SD broadcast cameras, any kind of lenses, and teleprompters up to 50 kg. In response to customer demand, at NAB 2008 Hybrid MC introduces full manual controllability, allowing users to switch instantly from robotic to manual control with fluid damping for both pan and tilt axes, resulting in a perfect feel. TITANIUM is controlled by Hybrid MC's controller COBALT or by the new MERCURY control software.

New Feature: COBALT Remote Control for Robotic Hardware — Now With Redesigned Ergonomic Control Surface
COBALT is the remote control unit for Hybrid MC's robotics hardware. New for the 2008 NAB Show, COBALT features an improved ergonomic control surface and user interface providing rapid and easy access to critical functions. Compatible with the TITANIUM and new SILVER robotic heads from Hybrid MC, COBALT supports up to eight robotic devices at the same time with touch screen control of stored positions, speed and the time of transition between positions, and all other camera functions.
