with graphics as well as easy SD-to-HD upgrade
paths. Further developments include key technology
that extends PlayBox playout into the News environment.
PlayBox's market experience is reflected in many

NEW HD capabilities to build PlayBox
HD playout workflows:
HDMixer
built for the multi-format age, this is a new version
of the AirBox playout server that supports multiple
compression types within a playlist, such as MPEG2,
H.264, WMV, etc, as well as upconverting multiple
resolutions ? SD, HD, Mobile or other arbitrary sizes
to HD. Users can also select the output aspect ratio
conversion on a per-clip or per-playlist basis.
HDStreamer
streaming
servers can avoid costly codec cycles by offering
a high quality live MPEG2 streaming HD output as UDP/LAN
or ASI. HDStreamer can also provide HD graphics overlay.
HDLogo
is
a cost-effective logo inserter server that is available
for SD and HD. Unlike
traditional logo inserters this provides flexible
operation of schedules and rundowns and is also field-upgradeable
to a full-blown TitleBox CG server.
HD2B
is
an SD AirBox playout server that is HD-ready, providing
a very cost-effective field-upgrade path all the way
to AirBox HD Mixer.
NEW
capabilities for SD and HD workflows
N+1
is
an advanced n+1 or n+m redundancy configuration for
cost-effective redundant playout pools. A number of
playout servers can be monitored by a single, or multiple
systems and backup engages immediately a monitored
server stops responding. Local backup content caching
and central storage scenarios are available to suit
operational requirements.
TitleBox,
PlayBox Technology's established CG server, is now
available in HD as well as SD, and is expanding to
provide dynamic data visualisation as well as presenting
graphics from traditional sources. This means that
TitleBox can now accept data from RSS feeds to present
live on-screen updates. For third-party integration
TitleBox can extract data from any ODBC-compliant
database and, again, display that on-screen in any
defined graphics template format.
CaptureBox,
PlayBox Technology's widely used ingest server, is
now available in multi-channel configurations with
record chunking, selectable compression, and date
and time burn-in. The traditional flexible and easy-to-use
single-channel version is now complemented with dual
and triple-channel versions for yet more cost-effective
operation in larger multichannel playout workflows.
Features include manual or scheduled recording and
input options including, but not limited to, analogue,
SDI, firewire, ASI, UDP/LAN.
AirNews
integrates PlayBox Technology's renowned playout capabilities
to news. This is achieved by PlayBox solutions integrating
via the MOS protocol used with newsroom control systems.
This allows PlayBox automation to import news rundowns
from various newsroom control systems and run them
into live bulletins.
