Ore., June 9, 2008 – Tektronix will showcase a
number of products and solutions across its portfolio
at IBC 2008, including solutions for file-based video,
MPEG, SD and HD and next generation compression technologies
to meet the needs for almost every point in the digital
ecosystem, underpinning the explosion of video applications. |
Tektronix’s WFM and WVR series have been enhanced
with new features including the addition of a 3Gb/s
Single Link Serial-Digital-Interface. With this addition
plus the numerous other features, such as aspect ratio
signalling control (WSS and Video Index), audio loudness
measurement according to ITU BS 1770 and Teletext analysis
and decoding, Tektronix Waveform Monitors provide the
most precise, highly reliable, and broadest range of
tools for every critical monitoring point in the digital
video signal transmission.
The
Tektronix WFM4000 and WFM5000 waveform monitors and
WVR4000 and WVR5000 rasterizers that provide efficiency
and affordability will also be on display. These units
enable editors and operators to quickly and easily
verify and adjust video and audio content from multiple
signal sources. The 4000 Series supports Standard
Definition (SD) video while the 5000 Series supports
both SD and High Definition (HD). All models are designed
for portability, measure uncompressed audio, operate
on a standard 12v battery, and are suitable for outdoor
use due to a bright LED backlit display.
The
latest Tektronix MPEG solutions will also be showcased.
The MTM400A MPEG Transport Stream Monitor features
a powerful new FlexVuPlus user interface that leverages
the comprehensive diagnostic capabilities of the MTM
platform to deliver greatly simplified DTV monitoring.
With the MTM400A, broadcasters and network operators
will be able to detect signal degradation caused during
transmission and distribution to find and diagnose
errors more quickly to prevent viewers from experiencing
loss of signal.
Cerify,
the world’s first fully automated system capable
of verifying the quality of file-based, compressed digital
video and audio content prior to transmission or use,
will be highlighted on the stand. The seamless integration
of Cerify with Dolby´s DP600 loudness processor
ensures a great sound and picture quality experience
and therefore ensures higher levels of end-customer
viewing satisfaction.
The
PQA500 Picture Quality Analyzer, incorporating eight
new Tektronix patents and embodying the most comprehensive
Human Vision Model, will be available for visitors
to the stand to view. The PQA500 provides the most
complete suite of measurement and diagnostic tools
for picture quality analysis including full support
of high definition (HD) formats.
