Harris Corporation to Present Technology Seminars at IBC2007 Training Zone.

WINNERSH, England, August 29, 2007 — Harris Corporation today announced that it will again be presenting seminars to demonstrate its technology leadership to the industry during the 2007 IBC. The three, daily one-hour seminars will focus on key technology areas such as the challenges of file-based non-linear content delivery and networked broadcast environments; 3Gbps and modern infrastructure for broadcasters; and new ways of managing data within a complex, shared media world.

Aimed at industry professionals who work in all aspects of broadcast, production, post production, mobile and Internet environments, these seminars will be held across all five days of the show and will take place in the Training Zone in Hall 11 at the RAI Convention Centre.

The following presentations will be given daily at IBC:

A New Class of Managing Data Within a Complex, Shared Media World, presented by Mark Darlow, Asset Management Business Segment Leader, Harris Broadcast Communications
Today’s broadcast business profitability can depend on the speed and efficiency of access to shared media. This presentation explores the required common structures necessary to communicate and share information across the business workflow in a broadcast operation — from content commissioning, production, and rights management to airtime sales to media delivery.

3Gbps and Modern Infrastructure for Broadcasters — Delivering Today While Building the Infrastructure of the Future, presented by Stan Moote, Vice President of Corporate Development, Harris Broadcast Communications
Higher data rates remain a technically challenging area, and this presentation will cover the technical details and operational requirements of 3Gbps, and how and where to use 3Gbps, along with 270Mbs and 1.5Gbps installations. Future-proof case study examples will be provided during this presentation.

Meeting the Challenge of a File-based Non-linear Content Delivery and Networked Broadcasting Environment, presented by John Delay, Director of Strategic Management, Harris Broadcast Communications
The file-based media workshop will cover the challenges broadcasters face today when dealing with media in the all-compressed domain. This workshop will explore the state of the industry, the role of media management, the challenges associated with digital archives, the role of transcoding, and media transport challenges in networks.
