Zandar Unveils Next Generation Predator Series MultiViewer, the Predator II, at IBC 2007.

Dublin, 9 August 2007 - Zandar Technologies, a leading technology innovator and pioneer in MultiViewer systems, is launching their next generation Predator Series MultiViewer at the IBC 2007 exhibition.

At their stand at IBC 2007, Zandar Technologies are revealing the next generation of their Predator series, the Predator II. The Predator II was created in response to feedback from customers and integrators and is a major step towards the control room of the future. The Predator II improves the efficiency of viewing and monitoring a multitude of sources and is designed for TV stations and broadcasters in production, outside broadcast, master control, transmission and confidence monitoring.

The Predator II retains the pristine image quality and minimal frame delay that are central to Zandar’s Predator Series and offers enhanced monitoring functions for the control of multiple systems in a scalable virtual Wall. It allows seamless integration with third party equipment and controllers and fast response through status reporting using Video, audio, metadata and system data monitoring. By virtualising ancillary equipment such as UMDs, tally lamps and studio clocks, it allows savings on not only ancillary equipment, but also on space, power and Air Conditioning.

Based on next generation video processing technology, it allows advanced alarm-based detection of technical faults commonly encountered in a control-room. It offers aspect ratio management to facilitate both 4:3 and 16:9 broadcasts, auto-sensing HD-SDI, SDI and composite video PAL or NSTC inputs via BNC, removing the need for converters and easing migration to HD. The improved graphics engine offers scalable text, additional fonts, 3D graphics, logos, bitmaps and faster refresh rates. The 2RU enclosures additionally feature dual redundant power supplies for 24/7 operation.

Alongside the new Predator II, Zandar will be displaying their complete range of Zandar MultiViewers including the Predator HD and FusionPro+ series as well as advanced control options such as Z-Controller and Z-Configurator.
