Harris integrated workflows at IBC2007 will include:
Business
Operations: Leveraging the H-Class platform
for interoperability across sales, traffic, scheduling
and billing operations
Harris®
H-Class is a family of media and operation control
software products that support the workflow within
a media operation, from proposals and sales through
to media playout and delivery. H-Class provides
one system of interoperability whereby customers can
add software applications, compliant third-party products
or extended licensing capabilities to expand their
businesses beyond current revenue models. Visitors
to the Harris booth will see several H-Class
applications in action.
In
the area of business operations, Harris will showcase
the Landmark air-time sales, Vision scheduling, and
Broadcast Master scheduling and sales H-Class
applications. Developed to meet the specific needs
of clients in the Europe, Middle East & Africa
(EMEA) and Asia Pacific regions, these products drive
sales and traffic operations at some of the worlds
leading media companies.
Media
Management: Connecting Content to Revenue
The
Harris® ADC and D-Series H-Class
playout automation applications will be demonstrated
in the area of media management. ADC is a premier
production room tool for automated dubbing, material
management and program playout. Ideal for small- to
mid-size broadcasters, ADC controls a full range
of devices, including the latest integrated switchers
and branding equipment, and manages complex effects
and playout tasks. D-Series is ideally suited
for media companies that manage and distribute content
to large channel counts.
Also
on display is Invenio®, the H-Class digital
asset management system. Invenio® provides a suite
of software applications for the ingest and management
of rich media assets. The system acts as the front
end to the workflow engine by providing consolidated
metadata that makes it easy to find, utilize, manage
and present ingested content.
Newsrooms
and Editing: Editing to air faster in an end-to-end
file-based workflow
For
newsroom environments, IBC2007 will mark the European
introduction of NewsForce, a complete, file-based
newsroom solution built on the advanced NEXIO
server architecture and featuring a new generation
of Harris editors optimized for the fast cutting,
voicing and airing of news. With servers, editors
and Harris® Inscriber® graphics systems working
directly on the NEXIO storage area network,
NewsForce provides a streamlined, MOS-enabled
infrastructure for producing, processing, distributing
and managing both SD and HD content.
Core
Processing: Interoperable hybrid infrastructure
the glue that binds your workflow
In
core processing at IBC2007, Harris will showcase CENTRIO,
a breakthrough multi-image processor, combining a
superior graphics engine, a robust broadcast-quality
router, and integrated test and measurement tools.
Uniquely capable of driving up to 32 independent DVI
displays or 64 independent HD-SDI monitors, CENTRIO
features a superior graphics engine that enables customizable
image layouts.
Harris
also will demonstrate the advanced audio processing
and 3Gb/s capability across the Harris signal processing
and distribution products including the Platinum®
router providing cost-effective, HD-compatible
products supporting emerging standards such as 1080p.
New enhancements in the signal processing product
line further extend the portfolio breadth and include
an HD audio/video frame synchronizer and processor;
an SD aspect ratio converter in the 6800+ platform
that is firmware-upgradeable to a utility- or broadcast-quality
upconverter; and a 3D decoder for composite signals
in the 6800+ platform with integrated audio capabilities.
In addition, colour correction functionality and a
loudness management solution have been integrated
with the X75 multi-path converter/synchronizer.
Visitors to the Harris stand also will see expanded
functionality in its OPTO+ fibre optics product line
including L-Band, analogue transport and Studio-in-a-Module
available in WDM, CWDM and DWDM wavelengths. Harris
also is showcasing the cross-portfolio control of
its NUCLEUS control panel and CCS Navigator
control and monitoring application.
IBC2007
also will represent the European introduction of the
new, portable HD-SDI and SD-SDI generator and monitor,
HD-STAR, and the VTM-2400 HD/SD on-screen monitor
a 1RU, multifunction precision test instrument
that adds a low-cost alternative to the Videotek®
VTM Series.
Channel
Release: Integrating automation with master control
and branding to deliver your on-air look with quality,
flexibility and creativity
At
IBC2007, Harris will unveil a powerful new media platform
that will change the way broadcasters think about
video servers. This new technology establishes a scalable,
interoperable foundation for building an end-to-end
HD/SD broadcast television solution. The line of products
includes next-generation NEXIO servers that
pair true shared storage functionality with a range
of integrated applications that go beyond video ingest,
edit and on-air playback to set a new standard for
media production and transmission.
Look
for Harris Corporations leading graphics and
branding products in channel release, including the
IconMaster v2.0 master control and branding
solution, which provides the high level of control
needed in the multiservice, multiformat world; the
Inscriber® G3, an HD/SD-selectable graphics
system designed to meet the demands of fast paced,
live-to-air production including live news, sports,
elections and entertainment; and the Inscriber®
RTX HD/SD custom on-air graphics system, which
boasts a rich multilayer environment for the simultaneous
display of text, graphics, animation, video, DVE,
rolls, crawls and more.
To
further improve the workflow, Harris has added new
data-analysis parameters and file-correction tools
to its Videotek® QuiC media analysis server,
which will enable customers to analyze files during
ingest, correct certain file problems on the fly with
no operator intervention and significantly improve
efficiency.
Media
Transport: Moving media faster, easier, cleaner
anywhere
In
media transport for IBC2007, Harris will announce
the European launch of a suite of HDTV H.264 (MPEG-4
part 10) compression products for the NetVX
platform that will enable new applications and services
by allowing lower-bandwidth operation of HD services
over satellite, terrestrial and IPTV delivery platforms.
Harris also will be announcing enhanced functionality
for the Intraplex® NetXpress an IP
multiplexer that provides reliable transport of audio,
video and data over IP.
At
IBC2007, Harris also will introduce a next-generation
family of content encoding and compressed content
editing applications that build on the successful
legacy of the Digital Turnaround Processor (DTP).
RF
Transmission: Reliably leading into the digital future
with the broadest line of transmitter solutions
Harris
continues to offer one of the industrys broadest
lines of RF Transmission solutions, including ATSC
and DVBT transmitters, and a growing range of mobile
