Fraunhofer IIS at IBC 2006
(05/09/2006) Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS is looking forward to welcoming you at our booths at the IBC 2006 from September 8th to 12th in Amsterdam

As the leading research institute in the field of audio and video coding we are glad to show you the latest developments in the following areas:

Premiere: High definition MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 real-time software encoding. Fraunhofer IIS shows a pure software encoder for HD video material (with 720p @25 fps) in good quality at data rates of 4-8 Mbps. The encoder is running on a powerful PC and transferring the file via IP to a regular workstation PC for playback.

MPEG-Surround in conjunction with HE-AAC provides good quality multi-channel audio at bit rates so far used for stereo whilst being fully backwards compatible to stereo or mono players. The surround enhancement is suitable for every popular broadcast format.

HD-AAC: The MPEG-4 SLS standard forms the basis of the Fraunhofer HD-AAC technology. It offers a scalable to lossless audio coding format with a wide variety of application scenarios. For example in studio operations it preserves the highest level of quality.

Content Protection with OMA DRM 2.0: Fraunhofer IIS server and client side OMA DRM 2.0 core component SDKs and CDKs are available to add content protection to your multimedia applications.

DVB-H Solutions: Our improved DVB-H player SDK supports multiple platforms like Windows Mobile and embedded Linux. Besides optimized AV codecs (HE-AAC v2, H.264/AVC) we offer storage with the MP4 file format and transport via RTP streaming.
All single components are available as an all-in-one media player, too.

Please also visit our exhibition in the IBC Mobile Zone where we show a full broadcast chain.
