Major developments
in IBC's real estate - New Hall 12
Manufacturers are still clamouring for more space at IBC2006,
so the exhibition team has worked with the RAI Centre to create
500 square metres of additional show floor which will now be known
as Hall 12. Combined with some other changes it will make the
whole experience for visitors and exhibitors better and more convenient.

Industry
Giants Enter Mobile Zone at IBC2006
Leading IT, Telecom and Broadcast companies are signing up to
enter the Mobile Zone at IBC2006 as interest in Mobile TV starts
to take off in Europe. Harris, Nokia, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments
are amongst the dozens of companies who have signed up to-date.
Signalling its own commitment to play a leading role in this new
market, National Grid Wireless, one of the UK's leading providers
of broadcast transmission infrastructure, has been announced today

at the heart of the world's leading broadcasting exhibition. In
addition to demonstrating the latest developments in mobile TV
and 3G services, the Mobile Zone will feature the latest innovations
in mobile devices and explore their impact on the creation, management
and delivery of content.
IBC Awards
Take Centre Stage
Since 1967 IBC has been a key part of our industry's success story.
In recognition of this, IBC2006 will feature a new-look high profile
awards ceremony designed to reward excellence in all areas of
the IBC event and the industry it serves.
New Innovation
Awards Shortlist
As well as IBC's established awards, 2006 sees the introduction
of four new awards for the innovative application of technology
in a recent project. The award will be presented for the project
and recognises the technology company and end user listed on the
entrants' submission to IBC.
A panel of
editors and journalists representing key industry technology titles
worldwide judged the awards. Today (14 July) sees the announcement
of the public shortlist and the winners will be revealed and honoured
at IBC during the ceremony.
